What CalPeak Does
CalPeak lets users scan menus or meal photos to estimate calories, macros, and a suggested meal choice based on a selected goal.
Data We Process
- Email address, display name when provided, password-derived credentials, account ID, and session token metadata when a user creates or uses a CalPeak account.
- Generated device and app identifiers used for guest usage limits, session continuity, security, and API operation, including when no account has been created.
- Photos selected or captured by the user for food/menu analysis.
- Goal settings such as calorie target, diet preference, and ranking priority.
- Meal analysis results, saved scan history, calories, macros, and timestamps.
- Purchase history, product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, and renewal or expiration information used to provide CalPeak Plus.
- Technical data needed for app security, crash diagnosis, and API operation.
Photos And AI Analysis
Photos are sent to the CalPeak API only when the user scans or uploads a meal/menu image. The backend may use AI providers to analyze the image and return estimated nutrition information. Do not upload sensitive personal documents or private images unrelated to food.
Health And Nutrition Disclaimer
Nutrition results are estimates. CalPeak is not a medical device, dietitian, doctor, or clinical nutrition service. Users should not rely on CalPeak for diagnosis, treatment, or medical decisions.
Payments
CalPeak Plus subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. CalPeak uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore access, and synchronize subscription status. RevenueCat and CalPeak process app account identifiers, purchase history, product and transaction identifiers, and subscription entitlement, renewal, and expiration records for these purposes. CalPeak does not receive your full payment card details or store payment credentials.
Local History And Account Sync
Guests can save meals on their device without an account. Signing in synchronizes pending local meal data with the account so those records can be recovered later. Local meal photos are not included in this history synchronization and are not restored on another device. AI analysis still requires sending the selected image to the CalPeak API; local saving does not make image analysis offline.
Data Retention
Local app settings and saved meal history may remain on the user's device until deleted by the user, cleared in the app, or the app is removed. Deleting a CalPeak account removes its account record, saved meals, scan records, credentials, sessions, and usage counters.
CalPeak retains subscription event records separately to reconcile purchases and prevent duplicate processing. These records may include the original app account identifier and purchase or transaction metadata; they are not all anonymous or hashed, and account deletion does not automatically delete them. There is currently no fixed automatic deletion period for these records. Contact [email protected] to request deletion or information about retained subscription records. Limited hashed security audit logs may also be retained for security and abuse prevention.
Account Deletion
Users with a CalPeak account can request deletion in the app from Profile or Settings by selecting Delete account. Users who cannot access the app can request account and associated data deletion at calpeak.app/delete-account or by contacting [email protected] from the email address used for the account.
Deleting the app or your CalPeak account does not cancel an active store subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Store and payment-provider records are also subject to their own retention policies.
